Set on the Oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, the explora Atacama is in the middle of the Atacama Desert, irrigated with the waters of the San Pedro and Vilama rivers. Bordered on the east by a volcanic branch of the Andes Mountains, the luxury adventure resort is situated on 42 acres of indigenous parcels of land, some with timeworn pathways and buildings preserve with respect for the area's original inhabitants.

The property's 50 guest rooms feature modern and sustainable minimalist decor, designed to integrate the indoors with the natural surroundings. Focused on offering guests a deep connection with the outdoors, as well as silence, privacy, and deep rest after a long day of exploring, accommodations are not equipped with WiFi or TVs (there are TVs and internet connections in the main lobby).

The Kitchen serves gourmet cuisine designed to enable guests to perform various activities while feeling healthy, light, and agile. Crafted with sustainable and local ingredients, the cuisine embodies regional flavors, and is accompanied by Chilean wines. There's also a traditional Quincho BBQ area with an adobe house and patio where special events are held with traditional music and dance. Plus, the Explorer's Bar, which serves as a gathering place with cocktails and Chilean wines.

The spa is surrounded by natural vegetation. There are four, interconnected ambient-temperature pools, designed to relax and rejuvenate guests after a day of intense activity. There's open-air Jacuzzis, saunas and steam baths. The Turi Puri Massage Room is set within a restored adobe-straw building with a variety of massage options.

Guests can choose from more than 40 half and full-day exploration options including hiking, horseback riding, and biking. There's also an on-site observatory.
